When Your Heart Feels Heavy
Moment of Stillness
Not every burden has a name.
Sometimes your heart simply feels heavy.
You may not know why.
You may not have the words to explain it.
God understands what your heart cannot express.
Before you begin your prayer, allow yourself to simply rest in His presence.
Take a slow, deep breath.
Then another.
Release the pressure to have it all together.
You don’t have to hide your emotions from God.
You are safe in His presence.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
— 1 Peter 5:7
A Question for Your Heart
What has been weighing on my heart that I’ve been trying to carry alone?
Be honest with God.
Whether it’s grief, disappointment, fear, uncertainty, or exhaustion, place it in His hands. He is strong enough to carry what feels too heavy for you.
Take a Breath
Inhale: You are with me.
Exhale: I give it to You.
Repeat this slowly three times.
Today’s Prayer
Father,
Some days my heart feels heavier than I can explain. Thank You that I don’t have to pretend to be strong when I come before You. You already know what I’m carrying, and You lovingly invite me to place every burden into Your hands.
Fill the places in my heart that feel weary with Your peace. Replace my heaviness with the comfort of Your presence and remind me that I never walk through life’s difficult moments alone.
Today I choose to trust that You are carrying what I cannot.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Remain in God’s presence for a few moments. You don’t have to rush. Let His peace settle over your heart, knowing that the One who loves you is also carrying you.
