Rest Before You Ask
Moment of Stillness
Before you bring your requests to God, allow yourself to simply rest in His presence.
Take a slow, deep breath.
Then another.
You don’t have to begin with words.
You don’t have to explain everything you’re feeling.
You don’t have to rush into a list of needs.
God welcomes you just as you are.
Sometimes the greatest act of faith is choosing to rest in His presence before asking Him for anything.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
A Question for Your Heart
What would change if I trusted God’s presence before I sought His provision?
Sit quietly for a moment.
Allow your heart to rest in the truth that God already knows your needs before you speak them.
Take a Breath
Inhale: I rest in Your presence.
Exhale: You already know my needs.
Repeat this slowly three times.
Today’s Prayer
Father,
Thank You for inviting me into Your presence before I bring You my requests. Help me to rest in the confidence that You know every need, every burden, and every desire of my heart.
Teach me to seek You before I seek answers. Replace my hurry with peace, my striving with trust, and my anxious thoughts with the assurance that You are already working on my behalf.
Today, I choose to rest in You.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Remain in His presence for a few moments before you continue your conversation with God. Let your heart rest, knowing that your Heavenly Father hears you, loves you, and cares for every detail of your life.
