Lay It Down

A Moment of Stillness

Before you begin praying, pause for a moment.

Take a slow, deep breath.

Then another.

Allow your shoulders to relax.

For just a minute, resist the urge to rush into God’s presence with a list of requests. Simply remember that He is already with you.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

A Question for Your Heart

What am I carrying today that God never asked me to carry?

Sit with that question for a moment.

Is it fear?

Disappointment?

Control?

The opinions of others?

A burden from yesterday?

Whatever comes to mind, don’t judge yourself. Simply acknowledge it before the Lord.

A Breath Prayer

Inhale: Lord, I release it.

Exhale: Lord, I trust You.

Repeat this slowly three times.

A Simple Prayer

Father,

You never intended for me to carry every burden on my own. Today I choose to lay down the weight that has been exhausting my heart and clouding my mind. Replace my striving with Your peace, my worry with Your presence, and my fear with faith.

Help me trust that what I place in Your hands is safer than anything I try to hold onto myself.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

When you’re ready, continue your conversation with God. Stay here as long as you need.
