Be Still Before You Speak

A Moment of Stillness

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Before you ask.
Before you explain.
Before you try to fix what feels broken…

Be still.

Sometimes God isn’t waiting for us to find better words. He’s inviting us to find a quieter heart.

Stillness is not doing nothing, it is choosing to trust when your mind wants to race ahead. It is laying down anxiety, releasing the need to control every outcome, and allowing God’s presence to become louder than your fears.

Today, resist the urge to rush.

Sit quietly for a few moments. Breathe slowly. Let every deep breath remind you that the same God who has carried you through every season is carrying you now.

Reflection

Ask yourself:

  • What thoughts keep interrupting my peace?

  • What burden have I been carrying that God never asked me to hold?

  • What would trusting God look like today?

A Quiet Prayer

Father, quiet every voice within me that does not sound like You. Teach me to rest in Your presence instead of striving in my own strength. Help me trust that You are already working, even when I cannot see it. I surrender my worries, my questions, and my timeline to You. Fill my heart with Your peace and remind me that You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pause Here

Don’t rush to the next page.

Remain in silence for two minutes.

Let God speak to your heart.

He often whispers where the world shouts.
